An annual celebration held the first full weekend in June, Uncle Billy’s Day commemorates the founding of the First Saturday Trade Lot by the late William G. “Uncle Billy” Lane, Sr. The celebration itself dates back to 1949. Organized by the Altavista Volunteer Fire Company, local civic and nonprofit groups  and hard-working community volunteers, the two-day festival includes live music, crafts, games, children’s entertainment, food, and fireworks. Also included are art, automobile, and photography shows.

As part of the 61st Annual Uncle Billy's Day Festival in 2010, Altavista On Track will be sponsoring a Car Show at English Park from 3pm-8pm!  Come on down and enjoy the Car Show for free or enter your unique or classic are for $5.00.  Proceeds will go to fund future Classic Car Cruise In's on Main Street on the First Saturday of each month.  The first 100 cars to enter will receive a Commemorative Uncle Billy's Day Dash Plaque.  For more information about the Uncle Billy's Day Car Show, call Altavista On Track at 434-944-5530 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
